Golden Monkey

The genuine Golden Monkey (also called Good Fortune) or Kamalau. Golden Monkey was bred by Lam Seah and Lam Soon in Bercham, Ipoh, Malaysia. After the third generation, all of them were sold to the A-1 Aquarium in 2001. This type of flowerhorn is an original luohan-based fish and not a mixed-type Zen Zhu or Kamfa.

It can be a particularly expensive flowerhorn, carrying a price tag of more than one thousand dollars. The most expensive Golden Monkey was sold for $600,000 dollars during a Malaysian exhibition in 2009.

Flowerhorn is said to bring its owner lots of prosperity, luck and good fortune in everything ranging from wealth and fame to love and happiness. Those real hobbyists and fish lovers will even stretch their hands into the tank and play with the Luo Han, which behaves just like a little puppy.

How to select a good powerful Flowerhorn fish?

1. First of all, the fish must be active, aggressive and alert, able to follow your fingers when you play with it in front of the tank. Followed closely by its colors, the more redness on the Luo Han 罗汉, the better.
2. The body of the fish must be thick and squarish to represent the strong Earth Element and stability.
3. Lastly, the Flower markings on both sides of the body must be black and distinct so that you can one day “see” its lucky numbers and strike windfall luck too.
